Obituary for Roger Allen Vander Wel

Roger Allen Vander Wel, age 75, of Grant, passed away on December 25, 2019 in Grand Rapids.

He was born on June 11, 1944 to Clyde and Ella (Hommes) Vander Wel in Muskegon. Roger is survived by his wife, Sharon (Follett) Vander Wel; sons, Dennis (Ellen) Vander Wel and David Vander Wel, grandchildren, Elizabeth Vander Wel, Rose Engel, Dennis (Robin) Vander Wel, Davy Vander Wel; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Miliusis, Charlotte Engel, Levi Vander Wel, and one on the way; brother, Wayne Vander Wel; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Jacob Engel and brother Donald Vander Wel.

A memorial service to celebrate Roger's life will be 11:00 am Monday, January 6, 2020 at Resonate Church, 302 E 68th St, Newaygo, MI 49337. There will be a time of visitation with the family one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington DC 20090-8018 or to the American Cancer Society, 129 Jefferson Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
