Mrs. Sharon R. Nicholson, age 60 of Newaygo, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Grand Rapids.   She was born Sharon Rose Umlor in Sparta, the daughter of Marcia (Host) and Clayton Umlor on July 25, 1949. She married Leonard Gustaf Nicholson on August 6, 1985 in Rockford. She was a Secretary for Visiting Nurses in Grand Rapids retiring in 1992 after 10 years. She was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church of Kent City.       

She is survived by her husband Leonard Nicholson, her step‑children Paul & Elizabeth Nicholson, Mirinda Conroy, Inger & Tom Morphew all of Tennessee,  9 grandchildren, 1 great‑granddaughter, sisters & brothers Mary Umlor, John & Donna Umlor, Char & Jack Baude, Tom & Sharon Umlor, sister in law Jo Umlor.  She was preceded in death by brother Marvin Umlor, daughter in law Donna Nicholson, grandson Paul Robert Nicholson. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Kent City on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 with Pastor Leonard Dahlgren officiating. Interment will be in the Seaman Cemetery.   Visitation will be held 2‑4 & 7‑9 PM Monday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Grant.  In lieu of flowers please consider the Mamrelund Lutheran Church Food Pantry, the family for funeral expenses or the charity of your choice.  Condolences can be left at www.mckinleyfuneral.com.
