Mrs. Helen L. Binkowski, age 91 of Grand Rapids, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in Grand Rapids.   She was born Helen Louise Evans in Howard City, the daughter of Minnie Minerva (Spears) and Leonard Bruce Evans on March 23, 1918. She married James B. Alverson on December 17, 1935 in Ensley Twsp. and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1980. She then married John Binkowski on July 19, 1983 in Newaygo and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1992. She was a Homemaker all her life. She was a member of North Park Baptist Church‑Grand Rapids.       

She is survived by her children James "Mike" & Harriet Alverson of Grant, Richard Alverson of White Cloud, Carl & Marge Alverson of Wayland, Shirley Chase of Grand Rapids, Norman Alverson of Grant,  Nancy & John Davis of Grant, Linda Alverson of Ludington, daughter in law Kathleen Alverson of Howard City, step children  Paul & Diane Binkowski, Judy & James Maike, Theresa Binkowski, 27 grandchildren, several great & great great grandchildren, her sister Ruth & Marshall Putney.  She was preceded in death by daughter Marie 1952, grandson Troy Alverson 2000, son in law Stan Chase 2004, son George Alverson 2008, daughter in law Dorothy Alverson 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Rice Lake Baptist Church, Grant on Saturday, March 6, 2010 with Pastors Kenneth Floyd, Carl Kresge & Tom Rohrer officiating. Interment in Parkview Cemetery in Grant.   Visitation 4‑8 PM Friday at McKinley Grant Chapel. Memorials: North Park Baptist Church Ladies Missionary Fellowship.
