Mrs. Myrtis M. Howarth, age 86, of Newaygo died Friday, July 2, 2010 near Fremont. She was very active in the American Legion Post #381 in Croton.  She was preceded in death by her husband Walter F. Howarth in 1978.  She is survived by her children Richard & Jeanette Howarth and Janet & Joseph Noorthoek both of Croton, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, her sisters Eloise & Don Aucion of Louisiana and Mary Guillory of Mississippi and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 5, 2010 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Newaygo with Pastor Harry Bultema officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday. Interment will be in Croton Cemetery. For memorials, please consider Newaygo County Veterans Affairs, PO Box 243, White Cloud, MI 49349.
