Mrs. Elizabeth Velma McEwen, Age 84 of Newaygo, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in Fremont.  She was born Elizabeth Velma Pierce in Lynn, Massachusetts the daughter of Gladys (Anderson) and William  Pierce on May 8, 1925. She married Leslie McEwen on  in Peabody, Massachusetts and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1990.  She was a homemaker. She attended Resurrection Life, Newaygo.  She is survived by her daughter Joan & James Wise of Newaygo, grandson Ryan & Amy Nelson of Newaygo, great grandchildren Tristan, Makaela, Landon and Graeson Nelson, sister Marilyn Caron of Peabody, MA, and her special friend Margaret Lord of Newaygo. Memorial services will be held at the Resurrection Life Church of Newaygo, at a time and date announced later.  For memorials please consider the Resurrection Life Church Children’s Program.
