Mr. Robert Lee Veihl, Age 71 of Newaygo, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at
home. He was born Robert Lee Veihl in Grant, Michigan the son of Mildred
(Conklin) and Walter Julius Veihl on January 12, 1938. He married Bonnie Bennett
and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2005. He was a Laborer for
Chittenden’s Feed Mill for 14 years. He was a member of Newaygo VFW Post #4249.
He was a veteran having served in the Army from April 4, 1956 to March 11, 1958
when he was discharged as a PFC (T). He is survived by his daughters Kathy &
Robert Landefeld of Grand Rapids, Nancy & Brian Lockhart of Newaygo, Linda Veihl
of Newaygo, his grandchildren Marie, Chad, Rebecca, Amber, Bobby, and Cody, six
great grandchildren, his brother Doug & Carolyn Veihl of Mears, and his
brother-in-law Dick & Carol Bonter of Ravenna, he was also preceded in death by
his sister Gayle Bonter. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM from the
Newaygo VFW Post #4249 in Newaygo on Saturday, July 25, 2009 with the VFW
Chaplain officiating. Visitation will be held One hour prior to the service. For
