Mrs. Mary Evelyn Guiles, Age 87 of Cedar Springs, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in Greenville. She was born Mary Evelyn Burgess in Huntington, West Virginia the daughter of Sarah (Henderson) and Lonnie Jackson Burgess on November 13, 1921. She married Ray William Cox and he preceded her in death. She then married Eugene Guiles and he also preceded her in death. She was in accounting at Mongomery Wards, Grand Rapids until 1975. She is survived by her children Everett Ray & Billie Cox of Cedar Springs, Roger Dean & Christine Cox of White Cloud, her daughter‑in‑law Linda Cox of Grant, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her brother James William Burgess of White Cloud, her sister Ernestine & Jimmie Wilson of Hudsonville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons James Lee and William Jackson and 11 brothers & sisters. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM from the McKinley Funeral Home, Grant Chapel on Sunday, January 18, 2009 with Pastor Wesley Smith officiating. Interment in Rosedale Memorial Park.
