Mr. Robert J. Hollinger, age 63 of Grant, died suddenly Monday, February 16, 2009 at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. He was born Robert Jay Hollinger in Fremont, the son of Marian Louise (Brown) and Harold James Hollinger on April 20, 1945. He married Barbara Grace Christoffersen on December 31, 1977 in Grant. He was a AI Technician for North Star Cooperative and also was employed at the Tractor Supply Co. in Fremont. He was a member of Ashland Center Church of Christ and a member of Michigan Farm Bureau. He was a veteran having served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from September 21, 1965 to September 5, 1969 when he was discharged as a FTG3.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Hollinger, his sons Jay & Cammie Hollinger of Casnovia, Gy & Tressa Hollinger, his granddaughter Lyndi Hollinger, his sister Mary Jane & Darrell Wiggers of Newaygo, his mother-in-law Kate Christoffersen, and his brother-in-law A. J. & Sandy McKinley all of Grant.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Carolyn McKinley and Ruth Henry and brother-in-law Dale Henry

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant United Church of Christ, on Friday, February 20, 2009 with Steve Vander West & Jonathon Greene officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Center Cemetery near Grant. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday & Thursday at the McKinley Funeral Home Grant Chapel.
