Mrs. Mary C. Loomis, age 89 of Casnovia, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at Metron of Cedar Springs. She was born Mary Christine Martinelli in Madison, Wisconsin the daughter of Mary (Martinelli) and Eugene Martinelli on February 11, 1919. She was a Telephone Operator for Wisconsin Bell. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and of the Casnovia VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by children Patricia (James) Wylie of Kentwood, William (Carrie) Loomis, Sandra (Thomas) Schutter, Deborah (Randy) Gardner all of Casnovia, Marilyn VanKoevering of Bailey, son-in-law Michael VanKoevering of Grant, 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandsons Timothy & Mark.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM from the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Newaygo on Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Interment will be in the South Casnovia Cemetery near Casnovia. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Sunday at McKinley Funeral Home-Grant Chapel and 4-6 PM Monday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 6:30 PM.
