Mr‎. ‎Maxwell Everet Smith, Age ‎86 ‎of Grant, died Friday, December ‎19‎, ‎2008 ‎in Grant‎. ‎He was ‎ born Maxwell Everet Smith in Coldwater, Michigan the son of Effie ‎(‎Burdick‎) ‎and Clark E‎. ‎Smith on June ‎ 13‎, ‎1922‎. ‎He was a Clerk for Moe’s Hardware until 1984, he worked prior to that at Grant Lumber Co. ‎He was a member of Community Baptist Church‎. ‎He ‎ was a veteran having served in the Marines during World War II from June ‎22‎, ‎1945 ‎to August ‎30‎, ‎1946 ‎ when he was discharged as a PFC‎. ‎ He is survived by‎‎ his special friend Elaine Wheeler of Grant and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at ‎11‎:‎00 ‎AM from the McKinley Funeral Home in Grant on Tuesday, ‎ December ‎23‎, ‎2008 ‎with Pastor Mike Alverson officiating‎. ‎Interment will be in Ashland Center Cemetery‎. ‎Visitation be held from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday. ‎For memorials please consider ‎Hospice of Michigan‎ or‎ Fountain View Retirement Village in Grant‎.
