Mrs. Margaret Judy Maggard, Age 65 of Howard City, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 in Grand Rapids. She was born Margaret Judy Hofferth in Jackson, Michigan the daughter of Evelyn Virginia (Long) and Donald Warren Hofferth on November 11, 1942. She married James Thomas Maggard on November 8, 1996 in Grand Rapids. She worked in accounts payable for Bishop Distributing, Grand Rapids until May, 2007. She was a member of American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband James Maggard of Howard City, her daughter Julie & Ken Ek of Rockford, her daughter in law Cheryl Sloma of Rockford, her grandchildren Amber, Ashley, Haley, Steven and Erin; her sisters Kathy & Mike Simonson of Grandville and Donna & Larry Horan of Jenison. She was preceded in death by her son James Hegel in Aug 8, 1995. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, on Thursday, July 31, 2008. Interment in Crandall Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday. Dear Maggard Family, Jerry and I were so sorry and surprized to hear that Judy passed away, such a good person, so givening and thoughtfull, she will be missed by all the women in the American Legion Auxiliary. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jim and the Family, sorry we can't be their with you on such a sad day, but with the Good Lord by your side I know you will take it a day at a time, and with all your friends and family and prayers, let the Lord walk by your side. We had only known judy for short time, through haley and erin through family get togethers at Kyle and Cheryls.When she walked in the room it would light up.We was so much fun to talked to and listen to her stories.
