Bill worked as a Class A machinist for 24 years at Newaygo Engineering Company and then retired from General Motors on October 31, 1989, after working there for 18 years. He was a volunteer fireman for the Newaygo Fire Department for nine years during the 1960s. A veteran, Bill served in the army during World War II from December 20, 1945, to May 29, 1947. He was stationed at Walter Reed Hospital where he was a medical technician. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM from the McKinley Funeral Home, Newaygo Chapel on Thursday, June 5, 2008 with Rev. Judy Corey officiating. Interment in Newaygo Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
