Mr. Thomas Donald Fisher, Age 73 of Newaygo died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at home. He was born Thomas Donald Fisher in Detroit, Michigan the son of Marian Ann (Fischer) and Thomas William Fisher on December 24, 1934. He married Carol Ann Margaret Kenny on February 15, 1958 in Harper Woods, Michigan. He was a Consultant for Lowell Engineering until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4249.  He was a veteran having served in the Navy during the Korean War era from March 5, 1952 to November 29, 1955 when he was discharged as a MM1.  He is survived by his wife Carol Fisher of Newaygo, his son Thomas Fisher of Newaygo and several nieces and nephews.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM from the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Newaygo on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 with Father Tom Boufford officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.

Uncle Tom will be missed. His cutting humor where he liked to get his digs in, was always followed with that mischievous laughter. I got my fear of water from him. I was only six or so at the time when he took us out on one of his boats he built. The thing sprung a leak and started sinking in the channel near metro beach. My mom and aunt Carol were screaming, and my dad jumped into the water trying to hold the boat up. Then when I graduated, my dad tried to get me to join the Coast Guard! I don't think so, too traumatized. Thanks Uncle Tom!. We will certainly miss you. Mike Scarlavai
