Mrs. Ruth Eileen Kish, Age 62 of Newaygo, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at home. She was born Ruth Eileen Clay in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Violet Irene (Bodell) and Richard Lewis Clay on November 27, 1945. She married Robert M. Kish, Sr. on May 17, 1975 in Grand Rapids. She was a general laborer for Dura Products. She is survived by her husband Robert Kish of Newaygo, her son Dwayne Gates and his fiancée Vickie Goodin of Oklahoma City, OK, her sister Rita & Michael Sidlauskas of Comstock Park, her brother Bill & Shirley Clay of Walker, her sister Rose Karnes of Coopersville and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM from the McKinley Funeral Home, Grant Chapel on Saturday, June 14, 2008 with Dr. Cedric Williams officiating. Visitation will be held the hour prior to the memorial service. For memorials please consider the American Heart Association.

I will never forget the many summers of camping at the park while Bob and Ruth worked there. Those are some of the best memories I have. Ruth was always light hearted and fun to be around. She made camping with the family lots of fun for a teenage girl. She was very loved and will be greatly missed!

Ruth... Always strong, hospitable, full of joy and humor, and willing to offer a hand if you needed one. I first met Ruth on a camping trip. Ruth and Bob were the best park hosts a camper ever wanted and we returned nearly every weekend because of their great personalities. One of my fondest memories was the times Ruth and her husband took to think of my dogs before my arrivals at camping. A rock, always placed on the picnic table to entertain my dog, Baby. A golf cart, always offered for trips down to the river for dips for Page. There are not enough words to say what a special lady Ruth was and how blessed I have been to have known her. "May God rap his arms around you Ruth, and look over you for all of us who love you."
