Mrs. Mildred B. Rollston, age 93 of Sparta, formerly of Bailey, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in Meadow Lark Assisted Living Centre in Sparta. She was born Mildred Moore in Bailey, the daughter of Mildred Evelyn (Post) and Albert E. Moore on September 8, 1914. She married Vernon Elroy Rollston on September 12, 1957 in Grand Rapids and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2006. She was a Homemaker all her life. She was a member of Bailey Christian Church.

She is survived by her step-children Wayne & Shirley Rollston of Bailey, Bruce & Judy Rollston of Casnovia, Bernard & Delores Rollston of Fruitport, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and 4 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Bailey Christian Church, on Monday, March 10, 2008 with Mr. Daren Penwell and Mr. Chris Rollston officiating. Interment will be in the Seaman Cemetery near Bailey. Visitation will be held 6-9 P. M. Sunday at Bailey Christian Church. My mother, Janet Simons (then Botsford) purchased the house in front of Uncle Vernon and Aunt Mildred's house in 1974. My brother, Lloyd, and I were very lucky to have grown up with such wonderful neighbors. We would get cards from them during the winter when they were in Florida. I even learned to ride my bike by riding down their long driveway. And they always let us slide down their big hill in the winter time. The memories are endless. I will always miss her waving to us as she pulled in the driveway, and the summer will never be the same without him mowing the lawn. They will both be dearly missed. But, they are together again in heaven, looking down on us, remembering the wonderful times we all had. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
