Mr. Linus "L.D." Eaton, age 75 of Newaygo, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at his home in Newaygo. He was born Linus David Eaton in Grant, the son of Daisy (Gulmire) and Aaron Eaton on April 22, 1933. He married Joan Alinda Peterson in Newaygo. He was a Crew Leader for American Seating, Grand Rapids for 41 years until his retirement March 1, 1995. He was a Life member VFW Post #4249 Newaygo. He was a veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War from May 27, 1952 to February 26, 1954 when he was discharged as a PFC.

He is survived by his wife Joan Eaton, his children Debra & Joseph Gerencer of Grant, David Eaton of Newaygo, Denise & James Balding of Wisconsin, Donald Eaton & Kristy Colburn of Newaygo, Diana & Randall Rusco of Grant, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his brothers & sisters.

Memorial services will be announced later. There will be no visitation. For memorials please consider Camp Trotter at Bill's Lake C/O of the VFW Post #4249. Military Honors are under the Auspices of the VFW Post #4249 of Newaygo.  Please sign the online guest book at www.mckinleyfuneral.com.
