Mr. Charles "Chuck" Sherman Mercer, Age 56 of Newaygo, died Monday, January 22, 2007 in Newaygo. He was born Charles Sherman Mercer in Grant, Michigan the son of Elaine Marie (Buck) and Sherman Clifford Mercer on December 05, 1950. He married Linda Shull on February 14, 1973 in Newaygo. He was a Department of Public Works for City of Newaygo. He is survived by his wife Linda Mercer of Newaygo; his children Andy & Diana Mercer of Newaygo; David Mercer of Fremont; Jeremy Mercer of Newaygo; 3 grandchildren; his mother Elaine Mercer, his brothers Jim & Marilyn Mercer of Newaygo; Rob & Ellen Mercer of Newaygo; his sister Dee Dee & Bob Rogers of Newaygo; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Grant Wesleyan Church, Grant on Saturday, January 27, 2007 with Otis Wagner officiating. Interment in Newaygo Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday at McKinley Funeral Home Newaygo Chapel. To Linda, Elaine and Chuck's Family. I was sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. I had a wonderful working relationship with Chuck thru the City of Newaygo at the cemetery for many years. Elaine,Linda,Andy,David.Jeremy, and all the family. I just heard that he had passed on. He was such and happy go luckey guy and funny.When he came in store always wanting to help him find a gift for Linda for her bithday or Valinetines Day.My heart goes out to you all.
