Mr. Glen Vernon Cadwell, Age 82 of Newaygo, Formerly of Kent City, died Friday, June 22, 2007 in Grand Rapids.  He was born Glen Vernon Cadwell in Kent City, Michigan the son of Irene (Abbot) and Lester Cadwell on June 18, 1925. He married Jean A. Nagelhout on July 26, 1947 in Kent City, Michigan. He was a carpenter for Local Union #100 out of Muskegon until his retirement in 1984. He attended New Community Church, Newaygo. He was a life Member of V.F.W. Post #4249 in Newyago and the Big Rapids D.A.V.  He was a veteran having served proudly in the Marines during World War II from August 25, 1943 to May 31, 1946 when he was discharged as a Corporal. He is survived by his wife Jean Cadwell of Newaygo; his children Karen & Dick Heiss of Sand Lake; Dale & Kathy Cadwell of Baldwin; Faye & Rich Holmes of Bitely; 11 grandchildren plus 7 spouses with one grandson, Pat, in the Army; 17 great grandchildren; his aunt Virginia Cadwell of Cedar Springs; many nieces and nephews with several very special nieces. his sister in Law Beverly Dean of Florida. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM from the V.F.W. Post #4249 in Newaygo on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 with Pastor Case Van Wyk officiating.  Interment will be in Idlewild Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Sunday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday at the McKinley Funeral Home, Grant.  For memorials please consider Newaygo First Responders.
