Mr. Gerald Tibbe, age 80 of Bailey, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at his home in Casnovia Twp.. He was born Gerald Tibbe in Grant, the son of Jennie (Hyma) and Gerrit J. Tibbe on September 3, 1926. He married Ellen Maxine Murray on September 6, 1946 in Bailey. He was a Supervisor for Muskegon Piston Ring, Sparta Foundry for 24 years until 1979, he then was a superintendent at Ramsey Corp in St. Louis, MO for 5 years and then was a Paraprofessional at the Newaygo Vocational Center until his retirement. He was a charter member of Northland Church of Christ where he served as an Elder and was a former Elder at the Bailey Christian Church. He was a veteran having served in the Navy during World War II from September 4, 1944 to July 3, 1946 when he was discharged as a Yeoman Third Class.

He is survived by his wife Ellen Tibbe, his children Linda & Larry Haveman of Byron Center, Mary & Jim Johnson of Caledonia, JoAnne & Scott Vukin of Howard City, Jerry & Marge Tibbe of Newaygo, Jim & Becky Tibbe of Grant, Susan & Lee Hall of Morganton, NC, Patti & Dave Wilkis of St. Louis, MO, Tim & Brooke Tibbe of Grant, Julie & Andy Spencer of Cayuga, IN, 37 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and his brother John & MaeRita Tibbe of Grant.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM from the Northland Church of Christ, Grant on Saturday, April 14, 2007 with Mr. Roger O. Williams & Mr. Andrew Spencer officiating. Interment will be in the Seaman Cemetery near Bailey. Visitation will be held 6-9 P. M. Friday at the Northland Church of Christ. For Memorials please consider the Northland Church of Christ. Jerry and all - You are in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time. I always held your Dad in the highest regard and remember so clearly his officiating during communion services at BCC. I know you all of you will miss him terribly.
