Mr. Donald A. Carnes, age 64 of Grant, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids following a short battle with cancer. He was born Donald Arlo Carnes in Newaygo, the son of Alice Mae (Wildfong) and Forrest John Carnes on November 11, 1942. He married Nancy Ola Puff on September 6, 1983 in Grant. He was a Sawyer for Trussway of Sparta for 18 years and attended the Newaygo New Community Church.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, his family Anthony Carnes at home, Jeramie Puff of Newaygo, Melissa & Curt Sharp of Fremont, grandsons Jacob, Tyler, Zachery & granddaughter Kendell, his mother Alice Baker of Newaygo, sister Mary & Bill Shields of Newaygo, brother Jerry & Betty Carnes of Grant and his nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Forrest and brother Calvin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M from the New Community Church-Newaygo, on Friday, February 2, 2007 with Pastor Case Van Wyk officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery.
