Mrs. Alta M. Rollston, age 74 of Sparta, and formerly of Bailey, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Campus in East Grand Rapids. She was born Alta Mae Follett in Bailey, the daughter of Louise (Gross) and Pearl Follett on February 28, 1933. She married Melvin Lawrence Rollston on June 30, 1951 in Bailey. She was a Waitress for Cnossen Restaurant in Sparta retiring in 1994 after 15 years. She was a member of Northland Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband Melvin Rollston, her children Dale & Maria Rollston of Holiday, FL, Debra & Charles Krupp of Sparta, Marianne Shephard of Howard City, Duane & Veronica Rollston of Sparta, Marie & Mark Latsch of Saginaw, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister and brothers Lucille Hall of Bailey, Vern & Mary Follett of Twin Lake, Don & Linda Follett of White Cloud.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Marianna and son-in-law Randy Shephard.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM from the Northland Church of Christ, Grant on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 with Mr. Roger O. Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Seaman Cemetery near Bailey. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Tuesday at the McKinley Grant Chapel and one hour prior to the service.
