Mrs. Vera L. Henderson, RN, age 94 of Newaygo, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility near Fremont.. She was born Vera Louise Wilson in New Era, the daughter of Georgia (Hesselsweet) and Lewis Morgan Wilson on January 5, 1912. She married Frank Curie Henderson on October 14, 1935 in Muskegon and he preceded her in death in 1994. She graduated from Hackley School of Nursing and was a Nursing Supervisor for 8 years at Gerber Memorial Hospital-Fremont retiring after 20 years in 1972. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church-Newaygo; Order of the Eastern Star-Newaygo and the Newaygo Library Board.

She is survived by her sons Gerald & Gloria Henderson, James & Sue Henderson all of Newaygo, her grandchildren Jeff & Shelly Henderson, Jerry & Ellen Henderson, Scott Henderson, Jody Ann Henderson and Valorie, her great-grandchildren Max, Seth, Alex & Jacob, her nephew: Justin & Carolyn Wilson and children Morgan & Catherine, her niece Jackie Wilson & 2 children. She was also preceded in death by her brother Justin Wilson,

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, on Friday, August 11, 2006 with The Rev. Mary Frens officiating. Interment will be in the Newaygo Cemetery.
