Mr. Erasmo Z. Lara, Sr., Age 78 of Grant, died Saturday, May 27, 2006 in Grant.  He was born Erasmo Z. Lara, Sr. in Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico the son of Guadalupe (Zapata) and Florentino Lara on November 25, 1927.  He married Elvira G. Garza on October 23, 1949 in Santa Maria Nuevo-Leon, Mexico and she preceded him in death on November 16, 1993.  He was a General laborer for Wm. Bolthouse Farms until 1990.  He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church & Our Lady  of Guadalupe Catholic Church. 

He is survived by his daughter Elia Maricela & Santiago Mata of Grant; his son Erasmo Jr. & Alicia Lara of Grant; his other daughter Emma & Raul Buentello of Johnson City, TX; his godson Angel & Reyna Alvarez of Grant; 9 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren and his brother Manuel Garza of Reynosa Mexico.  

The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM from the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo on Wednesday, May 31, 2006.  Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Grant.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.  For memorials please consider Continue Care.
