Mr. Carl L. Nelson, age 84 of Muskegon, and formerly of Ensley Center, went to be with his Lord Friday, April 1, 2005 at the North Ottawa Care Center in Grand Haven. He was born Carl Leon Nelson in Ensley Twp., Newaygo County, Michigan the son of Bertha Matilda (Jewell) and Carl Oscar Nelson on June 28, 1920. He married Bonnie Jean Holler on October 19, 1946 in Fremont, and she preceded him in death on February 16, 1991. He then married Ida Louise Vanlet Hindes on March 28, 1992 in Ensley Center. He was a Supervisor for BASF Corp., Wyoming, Michigan retiring after 42 years in 1981. He attended the Fifth Reformed Church of Muskegon.

He is survived by his wife Ida Nelson, his children Cheryl & Marshall Lucht of Kent City, Linda & Mark Stouten of Grand Rapids, Steven & Betty Nelson of Lowell, Mark & Annette Nelson of Rockford, Kimberly Watrous of Grand Rapids, his stepchildren Ted & Ruth Ann Hindes of Petersburg, NJ, Victoria & David De Naagd of Spring Lake, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, his brothers Max & Pat Nelson of Grand Rapids and Marlin & Geri Nelson of Rockford.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. from the Fifth Reformed Church, 2330 Holton Rd., Muskegon, on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 with Pastor Marv Waffink officiating. Interment will be in the Crandall Cemetery near Ensley Center. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 P. M. Monday at the McKinley Grant Chapel. For Memorials please consider the Charity of your choice.
