Mrs. Margaret A. Smith, age 90 of Grant, died Monday, January 17, 2005 at her son's residence in Newaygo. She was born Margaret Amelia Ferner in Ottawa County, Michigan the daughter of Amelia (Schroeder) and William Ferner on May 4, 1914. She married Edwin Smith on July 13, 1934 in Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1979. She was a Homemaker all her life. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children Franklin & Mary Smith of Newaygo, David & Kathleen Smith of Kent City, Allen & Juli Smith of Grant, Barbara Seabrook of Grant, 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, her brothers Edward & Jane Ferner of Wyoming, William Ferner of Newaygo, Richard & Hilda Ferner of Grant, her sisters-in-law Josephine Ferner of Comstock Park, Lillian Smith of Grandville.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A. M from the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Newaygo on Thursday, January 20, 2005 with Father Tom Boufford as Celebrant. Visitation will be held 10-11 A. M.
