Mr. William Dewey "Bud" Sass, Jr., Age 80 of Newaygo, Formerly of Dearborn & Madison Heights,  died Monday, August 08, 2005 at his home.  He was born William Dewey Sass, Jr. in Detroit, Michigan the son of Myrtle (Orr) and William Dewey Sass, Sr. on February 26, 1925.  He married Adella Merta on January 20, 1951 in Detroit. He was a Salesman for Osco Inc for 10 years until his retirement in December 1989. He was a member of St. Bartolomew Catholic Church. He was a member of Newaygo VFW Post #4249; Past Commander Cooties. He was a veteran having served in the Army during World War II from April 30, 1943 to January 17, 1943 when he was discharged as a TEC 5. He was a Purple Heart recipient.

He is survived by his Wife Adella Sass of Newaygo; his son William F. Sass of Rapid River; his daughter Susan Martinez of Grand Haven; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandhchild; his sister June Todd of Dearborn Hts.; his brother Tom & Sara Sass of Livonia; his best friend Chris Davis of Newaygo. 

 Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM from the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Newaygo on Thursday, August 11, 2005 with Father Tom Boufford officiating. Military honors at 12:30 PM at V.F.W. Post #4249.
