Mrs. Mary M. VanSlyke, Age 95 of Newaygo, died Monday, October 17, 2005 at Transitional Health Services in Fremont. She was born Mary M. Okrepka in Little Falls, New York the daughter of Ksenia (Skolyar) and Michel Okrepka on February 09, 1910. She married Clayton Van Slyke in 1925 in Grand Rapids and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a Homemaker all her life. She is survived by her sons Everett & Lois VanSlyke of Newaygo and Albert VanSlyke of Irons; her step daughter Freda Van De Venter of Wyoming; many Grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great Grandchildren; her sister Judy Allen of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother John Czehowski; her sisters Clara Hoffman; Kathleen Streeter; and Beatrice Okrepka; and her grandson Steven Van Slyke. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
