Thursday, June 02, 2005 in Big Rapids. He was born John Edward Shannessy in
Grand Rapids, MI the son of Bertha (Colton) and John Wilbur Shannessy on April
03, 1927. He worked Tool & Die for Leer until he retired after 42 years. He was
a veteran having served in the Navy during World War II from July 20, 1945 to
July 27, 1946 when he was discharged as a Fireman First Class. Private graveside
services were held at St. Andrews Cemetery in Grand Rapids. For memorials please
