I was sitting in my car a few minutes ago thinking about him and I started to smile. He lived a wonderful life. The woman that you have become is a tribute to your father. He adored you. You did so much for him. I would watch him look at you when you were, well, being you. He would smile with eyes that said Linda, you are loved and you are wonderful. Harold
Pendell, age 86, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Casnovia, loved Father and
Grandfather, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2005. He joins his
wife of 44 years, Sarah, and daughter Jeradith. Also pre-deceasing him in death
are his parents Byron and Jennie Pendell who were longtime residents of Bailey,
Michigan. He is survived by his daughters Karen (Douglas Gillmer deceased), and
Linda (Fred Riley), grandchildren Tim Pamer (Gwen), Cindy Crawford (Jim), and
Dennis Gillmer (Marci). He had seven siblings, Elsie, Luella. Helen, Clarence,
Karl, Norman and Forest, all of whom pre-deceased him. He was a loving Great Grandfather to Andrew, Alyssa, Benjamin, Kayle, Jesse, Angela, Michelle, and
Sara. Harold was a dairy farmer having farmed the family Centennial Farm his
entire life. He took great pride in the quality of the milk that was produced
and the harvest that he grew from his land. He was a member of the Michigan Milk
Producers and the Casnovia Township Board for 40 years. Harold was a man of
strong character who liked to smile, and enjoyed socializing with family,
friends and neighbors. Late in his life, he acquired a dog named Hazel, who
became his trusted companion. He will be missed by all who loved him. Friends
may meet the family at McKinley Funeral Home in Grant, Michigan on Monday
evening from 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at
Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, in Kent City. Please consider the
