Mrs. Edith L. Freeland, age 93 of Casnovia, died Monday, July 25, 2005 at Edison Christian Nursing Home in Grand Rapids. She was born Edith Louise Carlson in Kent City, the daughter of Ida (Peterson) and John Eric Carlson on October 4, 1911. She married Leonard Clifford Freeland on September 19, 1931 in Sparta, and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1978. She was a Homemaker all her life and was a member of Kent City Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children Roger & Carolyn Freeland, Max & Nancy Freeland all of Casnovia, Nancy & Mike Korte of Grand Rapids, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. from the McKinley Grant Chapel, on Friday, July 29, 2005 with Pastor Thomas Cavanaugh officiating. Interment will be in Chubbuck-Pinewood Cemetery near Kent City. Visitation will be held 3-5 & 7-9 P. M. Thursday.
