Mr. Charles Edward Heiss, Age 80 of Sand Lake, Michigan died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 in Ensley Township. He was born Charles Edward Heiss in Ensley Twp, Newaygo Co., Michigan the son of Lottie (Osborn) and Floyd Heiss on February 26, 1925. He married Martha Joyce Frisbie on February 27, 1950 in Elkhart, Indiana. He was a Job Setter for GM Diesel, Wyoming until August 1983. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. He was a member of UAW Local #167; Lion Four Navy; and a Trustee at church.  He was a veteran having served in the Navy during World War II from January 11, 1944 to April 20, 1946 when he was discharged as a MOMM3c.

 He is survived by his wife Martha Joyce Heiss of Sand Lake, his daughters Debbie Baessler of Sand Lake, Jan & Tim Mc Lenithan of Lake Odessa, and Mickey & Brian Moon of Palo, his son Terry & Carol Heiss of Grand Rapids, 15 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren, his sisters Bonnie & Earl Hyde of Sparta, Shirley & Jim Fisk of Cedar Springs, and his brothers Robert & Elaine Heiss of Cedar Springs and Richard & Karen Heiss of Sand Lake.  He was preceded in death by his Son-in-Law Douglas Baessler and several brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM from the Resurrection Lutheran Church, Sand Lake, Michigan on Saturday, April 16, 2005 with Pastor Roy Faulstick officiating.  Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Friday at McKinley Grant Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, please consider Continue Care through the endowment fund established at  Fremont Area Foundation (Click here for more information).
