Mr. Arnold Richard Decker, Age 69 of Newaygo died Friday, September 23, 2005 in Newaygo.  He was born Arnold Richard Decker in Wyoming Park, Michigan the son of Marjie Arlene (Giese) and Walter Everett Decker on June 12, 1936.  He married Ruth Ann Fifer on May 29, 1965 in Grandville, Michigan.  He was an Electrician at Advanced Packaging Inc. until his retirement and was part owner of Fifer Electric Co. of Cedar Springs.  He was a Past President of the Newaygo Co. Sportsman's Club.  He was a veteran having served in the Navy from October 31, 1957 to September 27, 1963 when he was discharged as a FTM2. 

He is survived by his wife Ruth Decker of Newaygo; his daughter Cheryl & Ted Corrigan of Grand Rapids; his son Gregg & Michelle Decker of Beulah; his grandson Trevor Corrigan and his granddaughter Jessica Decker; his father Walter E. Decker of Ruskin, FL; his brothers and sisters Charles & Mary Jane Decker of Elwell, MI; Arlene & Ray Schuur of Jenison; Sue & Dave Simon of Lakeview; Jim & Arla Decker of Muskegon; his brother in Law Russell & Gert Fifer; his sisters in law Patricia & Robert Syswerda; Linda & Mark Stevens; Kay & Rich De Voogd; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother Marjie Decker and brother in Law Jack Fifer. 

Memorial services will be held 11:00 A. M., Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the McKinley Newaygo Chapel with Pastor Steve Summerfield officiating.  Visitation will be held 6-8 P. M. Wednesday and an hour before the service.  For memorials please consider Hospice of Michigan.
