Mrs. Sylvia A. English, age 86 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Newaygo, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Spectrum Health Continuing Care Center in Grand Rapids. She was born Sylvia Ann Keranen in Houghton Co., Michigan the daughter of Matilda (Juntuen) and John Keranen on October 9, 1918. She married William James English in 1943 and he preceded her in death on December1,1996. She was a Secretary for Gerber Products Co., Fremont, MI for 14 years until 1980. She attended Newaygo United Church of Christ.

She survived by her children James & Rosalee English of Lansing, Linda & Carl Rickert of Kentwood, Her grandchildren Michele & Paul Young, Graham Rickert, Matthew Rickert, and her great-grandson Parker Rickert.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 P. M., Saturday, December 4, 2004 at the Newaygo United Church of Christ with Rev. David Wygmans officiating. There will be no visitation.
