Mrs. Nora D. Smith, age 79 of Grant, died Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. She was born Nora Delene Monschein in Elkhart, Indiana the daughter of Anna Elizabeth (Shaffer) and Arlo Michael Monschein on July 24, 1925. She married Harold Joseph Smith on April 20, 1944 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1995. She was a Secretary for Travelers Insurance Co., Grand Rapids, until 1988.

She is survived by her children Mike Smith of Bailey, Sue & Dudley Irwin of Newaygo, Dennis & Marge Smith of Wixom, Kevin & Sandra Smith of Grant, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, her sisters & brother Betty Smith of White Cloud, Doris Sheler of Grand Rapids, Arlo & Phyllis Monschein of Jenison.

Mrs. Smith's request was for cremation and that there would be no visitation. Graveside services with be held 11:00 A. M. Friday, December 10, 2004 at the Ashland Center Cemetery near Grant with Pastor Jonathan White officiating. For Memorials please consider Hospice of Michigan - Newaygo County
