Mr. Martin H. Overkamp, Sr., age 77 of Newaygo, died Wednesday, September 23, 2004 in Battle Creek. He was born Martin Harry Overkamp, Sr. in Madison, Wisconsin the son of Jennie (Den Hartog) and Harry Overkamp on April 6, 1927. He was a Hi-lo Driver for Gerber Products, Fremont, until 1986.

He is survived by his children Clara Lou & Carl Bernebe of Las Vegas, NV, Harriet & Edward Haas of Hartford, CT, Martin, Jr & Kathy of White Cloud, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, his brothers & sister Gerrit Overkamp & Betty Salinas of Evart, Clarence & Clara Overkamp of Spring Lake, Shirley Jane Schooley of Newaygo.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, on Monday, September 27, 2004. Interment will be in the Newaygo Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 P. M. Sunday.
