Mr. John E. Fitzgerald, age 74 of Newaygo, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at his residence in Newaygo. He was born John Edward Fitzgerald in Grand Rapids, the son of Alma (Russell) and Edward Fitzgerald on November 18, 1929. He married Jacqueline T. Maze on April 30, 1951 in Grand Rapids and she preceded him in death on August 28, 2001. He was a Salesman for Grand Rapids Metal Source until 1992. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War from March 29, 1951 to March 21, 1953 when he was discharged as a PFC.

He is survived by his children Larry Fitzgerald & friend Laura Libner of East Grand Rapids, Debra & Jim Kaperski of Prudenville, Patty & Robert Long of Grand Rapids, Danny Fitzgerald of Newaygo, Denise Richter of Grand Rapids, Carol & Paul Tasma of Grant, Chris & Kevin Giar of Bellaire, Laurie Marshall of Newaygo, 25 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P. M. from the Croton Community Church, on Saturday, May 22, 2004 with Pastor Darrell Dakan officiating. There will be no visitation.
