Mr. Gerald A. Osborn, age 74 of Newaygo, died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born Gerald Antwine Osborn in Newaygo, the son of Edith (Hole) and Carr Osborn on January 12, 1930. He married Shirley Ann Switzer on September 19, 1953 in Newaygo. He was a Millwright for Doehler-Jarvis, Grand Rapids until 1975. He was a member of VFW Post #2449 Newaygo; Newaygo City Council 4 years; Newaygo City Planning Commission . He was a veteran having served in the Air Force during the Korean War from August 2, 1949 to December 19, 1952 when he was discharged as a S/Sgt.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Osborn, his daughters Jo Ellen Osborn, Tracey Osborn, his grandson Ethan Osborn all of Newaygo, his brothers Lawrence & Eva Jean Osborn of Muskegon and Raymond & Mary Osborn of Newaygo.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 P. M. January 31, 2004 at the V. F. W. Post # 4249, Newaygo, with VFW Chaplain Leo Rathbun officiating. There will be no visitation. For Memorials please consider the Newaygo First Responders and/or VFW Children's Fund.
