Mr. Franklin J. Bowman, age 66 of Hudsonville, and formerly of Newaygo, died Monday, March 29, 2004 at his home in Zeeland Twp, near Hudsonville. He was born Franklin Jay Bowman in Sparta, the son of Virginia Mary (Brott) and Ellis Franklin Bowman on August 7, 1937. He married Gwena Gean Fickel on April 29, 1961 in Newaygo, Michigan. He was a Owner/Operator of the Bowman Door & Operator for 38 years until his retirement in 2000. He was a veteran having served in the Navy during the Korean War from September 14, 1954 to July 17, 1958 when he was discharged as a BT2.

He is survived by his wife Gwena Bowman, his children Michele & husband Kevin Wagner of Jenison, Craig & wife Kris Bowman of Jenison, Erik Bowman of Hudsonville, Camille Bowman & husband Bob Wozniak, Jr. of Silver Spring, MD, His grandchildren Benjamin, Chelsea, Caitlin Wagner, Lauren, Emilee, & Camryn Bowman, his sister Sharon Twork of Grant and his brother David & Kay Bowman of Grand Rapids.

Memorial services will be held to celebrate his life at 2:00 P. M. from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, on Saturday, April 3, 2004 with District Elder Scott Heidema officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00 - 2:00 P. M. service time Saturday. For Memorials please consider Hospice of Michigan.
