Mrs. Estia M. "Susie" Pickerd, age 74 of Grant, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at her residence in Grant Township. She was born Estia Marceil Slater in Bowling Green, Ohio the daughter of Tressie Almeda (Cotterman) and Charles Slater on January 30, 1930. She married Clarence Edward Pickerd on December 23, 1947 in Grant, and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2004. She was a Homemaker all her life.

She is survived by her children Susan & Wayne Roe of Casnovia, Clarence Steven & Char Pickerd of Grant, Donna & Howard Bulson of White Cloud, Juanita & Peter McDonald of Grant, Wayne & Nina Pickerd of Ravenna, John & Cathy Pickerd of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Richard & Angela Hatchew of Newaygo, 32 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, her sister & brothers Leona Sanchez of Grant, Elden Slater of Cedar Springs, C. Eugene & Joyce Slater of Muskegon,.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. from the McKinley Grant Chapel, on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 with Pastor George Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery near Grant. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 P. M. Tuesday. For Memorials please consider the family.
