Mr. Elwood A. Smith, age 64 of Fremont, died Friday, May 21, 2004 at his home in Bridgeton Twp., Newaygo County. He was born Elwood Allen Smith in Solon Township near Cedar Springs, the son of Wave A. (Ellick) and Sherman A. Smith on April 30, 1940. He married Carol Fay Kreh Moore on January 1, 1986 in LaBelle, Florida. He was a Truck Driver for various companies until 2000. He was a veteran having served in the Navy from August 27, 1957 to October 21, 1958 when he was discharged as a Hospitalman.

He is survived by his wife Carol, his children Joseph & Gari Young of White Cloud, Anna Soles of Gillette, WY, Norm & Arlene Nester of Ravenna, Matt & Moreen Moore of Kalkaska, Wayne & Kathy Moore of Newaygo, Clay & Cheryl Moore of Kent City, 26 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister Ula & Norman Nester of Ravenna and his brother William & Sue Smith of Baldwin. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers & 1 sister.

At Mr. Smith's request there will be no services or visitation.
