Mr. Clare E. Wingeier, age 77 of Newaygo, died Thursday, October 21, 2004 at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont.   He was born Clare Ernest Wingeier in Detroit, the son of Edwina (Quiggle) and Alex E. Wingeier on April 18, 1927. He married Patricia Mae (Little) Whittemore on May 1, 1981 in Caledonia, Michigan. He was a Mechanic for Borgman Ford, Grand Rapids, MI until 1992 and also was employed at Wal-Mart for 10 years until January of 2004. He served in the US Navy from May 10, 1945 to July 28, 1946 and was a member of the Lowell VFW.  He was a member of Grace Bible Church of Newaygo.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Wingeier, his children Karen & Alexander McPherson of Warsaw, IN, Nancy & Donald McNinch of Gowen, Scott Wingeier of Dallas, TX, Thomas Wingeier of Grand Rapids, David & Nancy Wingeier of Gun Lake, Rodney & Denise Wingeier of Newaygo, Marcie & William Besmer of Newaygo, his stepchildren Gary McWhinney of Alto, Susan & Michael Jansma of Lowell, Todd McWhinney of Lowell, Diana & Tom Bruxvoort of Shelbyville, Bonnie Trolard of Wayland, many grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P. M. from the Grace Bible Church, Newaygo on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 with Pastors Sam Whittaker and Todd James officiating.  There will be no visitation.  For Memorials please consider the Grace Bible Church of Newaygo. Military Honors are under the Auspices of the Kent County Honor Guard at 11:00 A. M. on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Bowne Center Cemetery near Alto.
