- Mr. Mervin James Johnson, Age 55 of Grant, died suddenly at his home on
Thursday, May 29, 2003. He was born Mervin James Johnson in Sault St. Marie,
Michigan the son of Mabel Edith (Krise) and Herbert Otto Johnson on February
29, 1948. He was a Buffer/Polisher and hi-lo driver for Cemsi Corp. until his
retirement in 1996 after 28 years. He was loved by all who knew him and will
be greatly missed. Survived by:
- Wife: Karen Smith of White Cloud
- Son: Jared & Tiena Smith of Cedar Springs
- Son: Brian & Ualina Wellman of White Cloud
- Daughter: Andrea & Chuck Peterson of Lakeview
- Daughter: Angela & Chris Davenport of Reed City
- 5 Grand children
- Twin Brother: Marvin O. Johnson of Grant with whom he was very close.
- Brother: Raymond Johnson of Brohman
- Brother: Nylan Leonard & Alfreda Johnson of Grant
- Brother: Max & Lila Johnson of Grant
- Brother: David Johnson of Newaygo
- Several Nieces & Nephews
- Funeral services will be held at Noon from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel,
Newaygo on Monday, June 02, 2003 with Manuel Cavasos officiating. Interment in
Hillside Cemetery. Visitation 2-4 & 7-9 PM Sunday.
