Mrs. Marjorie L. Battey, age 80 of Newaygo since July, formerly of Jensen Beach, FL, where she lived for 32 years and also formerly of Grant, Casnovia, & Ravenna, died Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the Transitional Health Services near Fremont. She was born Marjorie Lusetta Harris in Elkhart, IN the daughter of Arlene May (Brock) and James Harris on February 22, 1923. She married Gerald A. Shull on February 14, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 12, 1987. She then married Paul A. Johnson in March of 1969 and he preceded her in death on October of 1995. She then married Vernon E. Battey February 22, 1997 and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2002. She was a Solderer for Solar Tron, Inc., Stuart, FL, and also was previously employed at National Fruit in Kent City and Evans Products in Grand Rapids.

She is survived by her children Marjorie & Jim McKinley of Newaygo, Jerrie & Phil Ogden of Muskegon, George & Diana Shull of Ravenna, Peggy & Karl Hesse of Newaygo, Richard & Cathy Shull of West Rutland, VT, 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren, her brother John & June Dekker of Newaygo, and good friends Anna & Al Yazzie of Stuart, FL.

She was preceded in death by sons John Lewis Shull  in 1981, Daniel Paul Shull in 1970, grandson Ronald James Cryderman in 1970, great-granddaughter Madelyn Grace Kruis in 1998, brothers George & Eldon Harris.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P. M. from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 with Father Tony Russo officiating. Visitation will be an hour before service. For Memorials please consider the Transitional Health Services C/O Fremont Area Foundation.
