Mr. Raymond A. Ebel age 62 of Newaygo Michigan, died suddenly of a heart attack while assisting with a fire, Tuesday, February 18, 2002 at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. He was born Raymond Alvin Ebel in Newaygo, the son of Avis Genevieve Hesse and Robert Peace Ebel on August 09,
1939. He was a Owner/Operator of Ebel's Body Shop in Newaygo. He was the Fire Chief for the Newaygo Fire Dept.; former Newaygo City Council Member; was active in Newaygo Museum/Historical Society and  the Newaygo Sea Scouts.
He is survived by his daughters Barbara Ebel of Newaygo, and Allison Ebel of Fremont,
his father Robert Ebel of Newaygo, his sisters Karen & Roman Scheidel of Holton,
Barbara & Mike Ashcroft of Grant,  Pam & Roy Halverson of Newaygo, several nieces nephews Aunts & Uncles, his beloved dog Screwball, many close friends, his preceded in death by,
his mother Avis in 1976, his sister Susan Ebel in 1951.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. from the Resurrection Life Church of Newaygo, on Friday, February 22, 2002 with Pastor Paul Ruzinsky officiating. There will be a fireman escort to Newaygo Cemetery by area Fire Departments where interment will be. Visitation will be Thursday2-4 & 7-9 P. M. at McKinley Newaygo Chapel.
