Mrs. Mary J. Funk agd 73 of, Newaygo, Michigan and formerly of Grand
Rapids died Sunday July 14, 2002 at Gerber Memorial Health Services, Fremont, MI.
She was born Mary Josephine Shull in Auburn, Indiana the daughter of Clara Louise (King) and
Jonathan Fillmore Shull on April 20, 1929. She married Carl Funk in Cedar Springs,
MI and he preceded her in death on 1969. She was a Parts Inspector for Pasco Division,
Grand Rapids until 1985.
She survived by her son Robert Versluis and Dave Versluis both of Newaygo, MI,
his two grandsons Justin Versluis of Grand Rapids, MI and Cheyenne Versluis of Newaygo, MI,
his sisters Marie Christlieb of Kendallville, IN, Irene & Fred Vanocker of Newaygo, MI,
Frances Phillips of Lowell, MI, Ruth Davis of Los Angeles, CA, and several
nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P M from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel,
on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 with Rev John Moser officiating. Interment will be in the
Croton Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 P. M. Tuesday.
