Mr. Clare Althen Culver age 68 of Everett Twp., White Cloud, Michigan died Thursday
May 02, 2002 at Transitional Health Services, Fremont, Michigan . He was born Clare
Althen Culver in Newaygo, Michigan the son of Emma (Tatrow) and William L. Culver on
August 26, 1933. He married Thelma M. Achterhof on November 6, 1959 in Newaygo. He was a
self-employed building contractor until 1992. He was a  life Member VFW
Post 4249 Newaygo and life Member of the Military Order of the Cooties Pup Tent # 11, Newaygo.
He was a veteran having served in the Marines during the Korean War from 10/09/52
to 10/08/55 when he was discharged as a PFC.
He is survived by his wife Thelma Culver his sisters Flora Hitts of White Cloud, MI, Barbara & Lyle Evans of Bitely, MI, several nephews & nieces, and his very special little buddy "Boots".
A Memorial military honors service will be held at Noon from the Newaygo VFW Post #4249, Newaygo,
Michigan on Monday, May 06, 2002 with Chaplain Leo Rathbun officiating. There will be no visitation. For memorials please consider the VFW Children's Fund Post #4249 of Newaygo.
